Client Review by “Katie”
California (2023)
As a young woman, I was deceived into marriage by an illegal alien from Mexico. Less than two years into our marriage, I discovered that the man was homosexual and had married me in a selfish pursuit of a Green Card. The entire experience was traumatic and life-changing.
I did everything in my power to notify the federal government of the fraud and stop the Green Card process. I sent letters, knocked on doors, and even made phone calls. Nothing worked. USCIS even waived the marriage interview and approved my I-130 petition regardless of my correspondence. I felt shocked, dismayed, and hopeless.
I reached out to countless immigration attorneys but not a single one would take my case. I realized very quickly that there was little to no help for victims in my situation. All the immigration attorneys I spoke to told me that they work in favor of the illegal alien and that they also did not have any experience with cases like mine.
Then I contacted Attorney Brown at Codias Law. He listened to my story, educated me on the laws and the process, and explained how the law applied in my case. He was particularly helpful in educating me about the value of an annulment in the immigration process.
Attorney Brown fought hard for me. Since the petition had already been adjudicated, he helped file an appeal with the Board of Immigration Appeals. He also helped prepare a notification to appropriate DHS officials regarding the facts and fraud in my case.
Eventually, Attorney Brown helped me to, among other things, leverage an annulment to stop the Green Card process in its tracks. He not only helped me fight back against a fraudster, he helped me fight against an unresponsive federal bureaucracy.
Today, thanks in part to the work of Attorney Brown, I have been able to turn this chapter of life. His work played an invaluable role in allowing me to move on with my head held high towards a brighter future God has planned for me.
